Diemersdal

About

Diemersdal

Six generations of Louws have practiced the art of winemaking at Diemersdal since the Estate passed into their hands in 1885. More than 12 decades later, Diemersdal is a well-known landmark in the lush Durbanville Valley, one of the Cape’s oldest wine regions.

Diemersdal forms part of the Wine of Origin Cape Town where cooling mists from the Atlantic Ocean roll over the vineyards every afternoon, contributing to the unique character of Diemersdal wines.

Come and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Durbanville valley, while tasting our award-winning Diemersdal wines at our tasting room. The noble varieties that go into Diemersdal wines are grown under optimal conditions in deep red Hutton soils on the slopes of the Dorstberg. Slowly ripened to perfection in dryland vineyards by cooling sea breezes from the Atlantic Ocean, the grapes develop concentrated flavours, creating elegant wines with prominent varietal character.

Enjoy hearty, seasonal dishes at The Farm Eatery, where Chef Martin de Kock combines his love for South African flavours with the flair of French culinary techniques and exciting inspiration from his international travels. Cosy up inside the old farm stable, carefully restored to create an intimate, rustic feel, or lounge on the lawns overlooking the vineyards.
