What began as a concern for the youth of the Robertson and Langeberg area has developed into not only life changing projects and programs but a world class mountain lodge.
When we first moved to Robertson our dream and vision primarily was to manage a nature reserve with luxury guest accommodation. However, our attention was soon drawn to the dire poverty and hopelessness of the local indigenous people in our surrounding rural communities. More and more the need for interventions that could break the poverty cycle of hopelessness became a part of our concern and vision. Affecting significant change is rarely a once off event, so we started dreaming about how we could facilitate life-long change in the minds and hearts of the people entrusted to our care.
Today we run several 'Restoring Dignity' programs with the help of local South Africans and international volunteers and our Leadership Development and Social concern projects continue to grow from strength to strength.
But there is more - In partnership with Siegmar and Karin Koblitz from Germany, Khanyisa Mountain Lodge, a world class venue was built in 2019.
Today, this fine luxury retreat venue primarily exists for 2 reasons: To provide an unforgettable, breakaway retreat for the discerning guest and traveller. To support and sustain our social development projects. Rolf and Lizzie Weichardt
