Hop-on Hop-off wine tasting experience.
The best way to taste a variety of wines in one of the most beautiful settings in South Africa, is to book a Hop-on Hop-off experience with the Franschhoek Wine Tram. You can choose between eight different routes that visits over 20 wine estates in Franschhoek, Western Cape.
You can choose at which wine estates to hop-off the tram, spend as much time there as you wish, and then hop-on the tram when you're ready for your next destination.
We chose the Orange Line route and visited Vrede en Lust, Noble Hill, Plaisir De Le Mer, All'e Bleue, Backsberg and Boschendal estates.
We received complimentary wine on the tram and a little history about the wine estates as we traveled. Every wine estate has something different to offer; we enjoyed lunch at Boschendal, did wine pairings at Backsberg and Plaisir De Le Mer.
Our favourite destination was Backsberg. We enjoyed the cheese and wine pairing here, and tasted their versions of brandy and cherry.
Because the tram and busses that transport visitors are open, it?s a good idea to bring a jacket along - the wind may be a little chilly.
